Biochem = Cell and Mol Biology?

They are separate subjects.

I don't have that RR book so I can't tell you to what degree cell/mol bio is covered, if at all.

Even though they may be 'separate subjects', does the Kaplan Biochemistry book cover both? and if so, is it a good enough source?

Kaplan lecture note "Biochemistry" covers molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics. It's easy to retain and get through. I used it religiously. What a great book it is !

GL :luck:

I second that... you won't regret it.....just get thru that Kaplan book couple of times and you will be golden

oh, btw, when I say the "Kaplan Biochemistry book", I'm talking about the one from the 7-book series, not the 4 book series.

So do your posts still hold true?

Yes. I used biochemistry one from 7 Kaplan lecture notes. :luck:

So let me clarify, the RR biochem is being shipped to me, but I don't have it yet.

Could anybody who has used it tell me what worked well with it for genetics or cell and molecular biology?

I've heard good things about High Yield Molecular Biology. I've actually heard that one of the older additions is better than the most recent (maybe 1999?). Apparently the more recent addition has more detail than you need.

I bought the 1999 version a few months ago. But so far, I spend more time wasting time and buying books than actually studying. So I can't comment on how it is yet.

I just checked, and the 1999 edition is selling for over $100 on half.com and amazon. Maybe I should sell my 99 copy. The new edition can't be that much worse!
