Let's help each other out! I think the best way is to list the rate limiting steps with activators and inhibitors for all the important reactions. When we are done we can staple it into our first aid. Please contribute because having everything on one page will be a lifesaver for the last day/week to memorize reactions! 😍

1. Fatty Acid Synthesis - Acetyl CoA carboxylase - (+) insulin and citrate
2. Krebs Cycle - Isocitrate dehydrogenase - + ADP, (-) NADH and ATP
3.

i hate biochem too! let's be biochem-hating friends. i'll post some stuff to you tomorrow after i get some sleep and assemble some reactions!

That'll be great. Thanks.

2. Krebs Cycle - Isocitrate dehydrogenase - + ADP, (-) NADH and ATP
3. Glycolysis--PFK- (+) fructose 2,6 bp, (+) AMP, (-) citrate, (-) ATP

i don't think i've done a practice exam yet that hasn't included 'ole PFK!

3. Glycolysis--PFK- (+) fructose 2,6 bp, (+) AMP, (-) citrate, (-) ATP
4. Heme synthesis - Gly + Succinylcholine -> ALA via ALA synthase (-) Hemin
5. Tyrosine metabolism - Tyr -> Dopa via Tyr hydroxylase (-) ? endproducts DA, NE/EPI, melanin
6. Glycogen synthesis - Glc -> alpha 1,4 Glc via Glycogen synthase (-) EPI, glucagon
7. Ketogenesis - acetyl CoA + acetoacetylCoA -> HMG CoA via HMG CoA synthase
8. Urea cycle - CO2 + NH4 -> CAP via CAP synthetase I (+) N-acetylGlu (protein ingestion)
I had a little trouble trying to figure out the rate-limiting step for Gluconeogenesis, but I think it is: Fru1,6BP -> Fru6P via Fru1,6BPase (+) ATP (-) AMP, Fru2,6BP (which is increased by insulin, decreased by glucagon itself)
