Methylxanthines (caffeine, theophiline, theobromine) are active principles with lipolytic activity. These
principles enhance lipolysis by rising AMPc intracellular levels; this is because methylxanthines inhibit
phosphodiesterase enzyme

Are you sure it is not because of increasing the activity of adenylate cyclase ?
