someone said he had a amino acid question for orgo section. is this true that they start to include biochem now?

amino acid has always been in the scope of coverage. Check your Kaplans book

Amino acids, zwitterions, and the like are all Organic Chemistry (as well as Biochem). So yes, any Biochem that is also OChem may appear on the DAT.

What kind of amino acid question? About structure, function, is it asked from a genetics perspective? An amino acid can be anything from an orgo, to a bio, to a biochem question depending on how it is asked.

zwitterions are in orgo though...a good example I believe is a phosphonium ylide. Ph3P-CH2 + charge on the P, - charge on the C. (used in Wittig reaction). Although free amino acids are also zwitterions (+ charge on amino group, - charge on carboxylate group) "zwitterion" litterally means "dipolar anion" in German.
