Should I memorize, besides understanding, the entire pathways of glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, Urea, TCA, and others on First Aid? Or am I supposed to know any specific ones?

Did you memorize all of the pathways?

Thank you

I just went ahead and memorized the entire Summary of Pathways in F.A (2012-pg 102) and plan to add more and understand it as I continue studying... but I still welcome any suggestion on Biochem on what to focus more on... Thanks

You are studying Biochemistry.

You need to know the pathways. Best way to memorize them is draw them on your own(using Lipincott diagrams) and repeat copying the diagram for 5 times. And each time, try to recall without looking at the diagram.

Its very simple, and its not time consuming. 🙂

And yes, I did memorize the entire pathway.

Yeah. Memorize all of them.

You've gotta study them well enough so you can flip things around, even when you're tired. I had quite a few tricky biochem questions on my exam that required you manipulate the pathways / be able to understand how mutations would affect concentrations, etc.

phloston, can you give an example of the complexity that a question can potentially be presented with in regards to biochemistry pathways? not asking for the specific question on your exam (though I wouldn't mind haha) but something along those lines?
