I have finished 1 quarter of biochemistry. Is that enough to fulfill the requirements for med schools that require biochem as a pre-req?

I haven't encountered any schools that have Biochemistry as a pre-req. It may fulfill the Biology pre-req if that's what you mean.

Check with the schools that require it - not very many do.

Mayo, Michigan, OHSU are the big names I know of.

And it may be required by some schools in the UC system, not sure (but not at UCSF, so not sure why I think this...).

UNSOM will also be requiring it starting next cycle.

UC Irvine requires it also.

Here is what it says on their site

Chemistry Requirement

2yrs
20semester units or 16quarter units

Courses must include Inorganic, Organic, and Biochemistry

I'm guessing they only require a quarter of it?

Since it's 2 years though, could you fulfill that requirement with 1 year inorganic and 1 year organic?

I'm not applying to any schools that require Biochemistry, but this would be interesting to know.

List of schools that require biochemistry:

Keck School of Medicine at University of Southern California
University of California at Irvine
University of California at Los Angeles
University of Florida
Florida State University
University of Hawaii
Michigan State University
University of Michigan
University of Nebraska
University of New Mexico
Oregon Health & Science School of Medicine
University of Texas at San Antonio
University of Wisconsin

What should I do?
C in Biochem from a florida school... I ask because Florida schools tend to be heavy on recommending/ requiring Biochem, Microbio, etc.
