I'm taking biochemistry next fall, and I was wondering if there where any prep books? Is there a book similar to "Organic Chemistry as a second language" but for biochemistry (covers all the topics in a typical undergraduate course)?

I've searched through the forums and the general consensus is lippincotts, but I was unsure if this text was appropriate for a first time learner.

My school uses this textbook:

I read the title of the thread and was like wtf?

Um, for biochem there really isn't any way to get a background for it except by taking cell bio, chem, and orgo. Presumably you've have these already though.

biochem isn't too bad.

lehninger's biochem cleared up any problems I ever had.

OP, you'll need minimum orgo knowledge (steric strain, bond rotation for AA - is the extent I remember).
