Do we need to have the amino acid structures memorized? What sort of questions were asked? Like what should we focus on, example peptide bond formation, DNA analysis techniques, etc.

dont bother with structure. just know the basics about primary, secondary, tertiary, and quaternary structures. know what types of bonds are present. the biochemistry that they will be testing you on will the be so basic that you probably would have learned it in your general bio 1 class.
 
Just chiming in here but...

If it means anything, I got a question that asked me for a specific enzyme in a biochemical pathway. The question gave me the reactant and the product, where I had to figure out which enzyme catalyzed this specific reaction.

Don't know if that's considered basic or not since the answer choices were pretty unforgiving.
