Bioengineering and BCPM labeling of courses?

Ethics for Engineering? BCPM or not? I'd rather NOT count it, since I got a B in there.

Also--BE280--"Bioengineering in the World." Does it sound like BCPM to you?

It's actually not i.m.o.--its where I went to a local poor high school and taught students principles of bioengineering, more like a community service class. I got an A in there however, and it would relaly help if I could make it my BCPM. Does the title sound like it could be BCPM? Should I risk classifying it as biology?

Also, BE100--Intro to Bioengineering. Would like to include this as BCPM--we mostly listened to lots of lecturers about their BE research, but homework assignments included some calculations/stats stuff sometimes. Can I classify it as "biology" ?

AMCAS says "biomedical engineering" classes fall under "engineering" and thus are not BCPM. But biotechnology classes are under biology.. this is pretty ambiguous at times..

courses classified as engineering are NOT counted in BPCM, at lesat not last year.

i listed a couple courses that were officially titled as bioligical and chemical engineering courses as classes eligible for BCPM gpa calc. amcas didn't correct them as long as their titles/descr. sound grounded in bio/basic science

what about a Health Sciences Department course in intro to the Neurosciences?

Neurosci is under bio on AMCAS but the course is administered by the Health Sciences NOT the school of biology.

Is it a BCMP course then??

I'm a Bioengineering major too and I think its dumb that engineering classes are not counted towards the BCPM.

I mean classes on Statics and Dynamis, Circuits, Linear Network Analysis, Signals and Systems, are basically advanced physics/math classes anyways...

It's not like AMCAS sees the course description from the University or anything right...

the listing for biological and environmental engineering at my school is BEE; chemical is cheme. both are upper level eng. class that i listed as bio and got away with.

👍 Since it has "Engineering" in the title I would put it under AMCAS' Engineering designation.

Biochemistry goes under Chemistry.

It doesn't matter what YOUR school put stuff under. Use AMCAS designations.
I know, it is weird, but allows for everything to go under one system.

Basically, I'd put things where *I* want them to go, and make AMCAS change them if amcas wants. If you submit early, the turnaround will be quick enough not to make a difference. And you'll probably get away with at least a few of your sketchy choices.
