Hi, I'm taking general biology 1 next semester and I'm looking for some type of book/books to buy in order to learn a little before class. Anyone have any recommendations? What about general chemistry?

Schaum's outlines for Biology, and General Chemistry.

Good deal  Do book stores such as Barnes&Noble carry them?

why dont you just buy the textbook the course will be using?

I wouldn't worry just yet.

Gen Bio 1/Chem 1 is just a rehash from high school.

If you wanna go ahead and get the textbook now then there's a 99% chance the book you'll be using for Bio is Campbell Biology.

Chem tends to differ.

From what I've heard, the textbooks can be rather
long and drawn out.....whereas other study material can hit key points and keep you interested throughout the entire book.
