Biology Notes (Cliff + Kaplan)

These are the Notes I made (very specific) from both Kaplan and Cliff. I spend almost 3 weeks typing them. Enjoy!

In Cliff, it says NO lysosomes in plant cells but new paper out there suggests Plant cells do have lysosomes.

I assume that the images are already linked with my dropbox public folder. Therefore, I do not think you guys need to download and link (too much trouble). Just download the anki files and load it with anki.

I recommend create an anki account and then sync it with your android/iphone so you can study on the go.

Please report any errors!! Errors are corrected into Anki from those notes. The errors are mostly typo. Thus, it is fine to study from either one.

Bangity - Are all the Anki Cards done? Trying to follow along through the thread but not quite sure which are finished or not. I have downloaded all of them...

When I open the Math Formula it is only showing 17 cards with no answers on any of them... just questions.

Anyway you can give me a quick sypnosis on where the Anki flash card decks are in terms of completeness and if/when you plan on doing more. It looks like you are still studying for your test next month so I'm assuming you might be adding more to them as you study more.

I will do more when I fnish Qvault Bio and TopScore if anything isn't included in the aboves. Once you load the deck, make you click Download Missing media.

Hey, Im not sure if this was said or not.
But under Regulatino of Cell Cycle you state:
SV ratio: Volume gets much larger when cells grow (4/3 pi r^2)
Isnt volume Cubed? Otherwise your SA (4 pi r^2) is increasing faster 😛

For products of kreb cycle.

it should be FADH2 not FADH

Also for chemiosmosis.
The proton gradient is accumulated in the intermembrane space OR across the inner membrane of mitochondria. Then when you have created a gradient there, those protons are pumped back into the matrix through ATP synthase for ATP synthesis.

I fixed that in the anki cards and posted the error before.

I believe that is true. What is in the note? Because I copied the exact words in Cliff.

Im getting the same things and when I click the "the media link" you provided it sends me to a page that say "error 404" and nothing comes out. Please help and these are great by the way. Thanks so much. Im also getting blanks for answers on the math section. Im using a Mac I dont know if that has something to do with it.

You don't click on them. Links like these are folders and to access a site, I need to put index.* to it to load. However, you don't go to these sites. You copy the folder link and put it in Anki's deck properties. Read the previous posts for details

hi

I don't really know how Anki flashcards work BUT is there any way to view only a set of them? like only the flashcards for one particular chapter?

I would like to use them after reading each chapter...is this possible?

you have to open up each card and change the tag of the flashcards that are in a chapter into the same tag name. and then you can select the tag in the anki app for reviewing those cards that contain the specific tag.

Hey,

I am studying for the OAT and it's Natural Science section is same as the DAT.

For Biology, 2013 Kaplan Review Notes book that comes with the course or Cliff's AP Bio 3rd edition or both? I have the Destroyer and will do a ton of Biology questions from that. For content review, which one? Thanks.

I'd recommend BOTH Cliffsnote AP Bio and KB. Those + Destroyer should prepare you for almost every topic in biology. After that you just have to keep practicing to expose yourself to some extra info.

Btw I tried using the flash cards, but the ANKI program seems really difficult to use.. or I'm just really bad with it. Is there no option to just look at all the cards at once or by chapter?

Hey bangity, will these notes you made and the destroyer flashcards you made help be ready for the actual DAT? Or is there more information that I will need to learn other than those? Because I'm planning to study just from those notes and notecards only to prepare myself for the DAT. Thanks.
