Is biology really needed to take the DAT or to even start studying? I'll be taking bio next semester and over the summer but is it needed to study or even take the test?

Biology is 40 out of 100 questions on the DAT science test. So, yeah I would say you need it. The questions range from basic to very detailed and it would be hard to pick it all up just by studying on your own.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to start studying. Do you have any background in bio, other than high school? Honestly, not that any of the other sections are easy, but Bio is difficult because it covers such a broad range of topics. From the organism to the molecular level. From your standpoint, yes Bio is a must. If you'd like, get a supplemental program from Topscore or something. That'll give you a taste of what you're in for. Good luck!
