Ok about 1.5 weeks to go and I am through memorizing my Cliff outlines. I feel like I have them all down just about equally good. Any suggestions on what I should focus on for Biology? The obvious answer is the things I feel I am weak on but I dont want to spend time learning unnessacary details if I dont have to. I would rather spend time on subjects that come up more often on the dat. Any Suggestions??

Sorry for being so confusing but I guess to be more direc my question should be "what topic was covered the most on your dat?"-- I hope that is a fair question.

The biggest subject was physiology, then genetics. Those were what most of the questions were on. But be aware, I did have some questions from other subjects including development, animal diversity, etc.

I think it is really hard to feel perfectly prepared for Biology. No matter how much you study, there might be questions that you have never seen. I thought I studied everything, but couldn't get many questions right. Make sure to know the big pictures 👍

Thanks so far for the input! I definatly know I am not going to feel as prepared as I could when I go into the test which is normal. My post may sound like I am worried but I am actually not nervous because I have been putting my best effort into studying. It sounds like I should put the majority of my time into physiology and genetics? I will keep reviewing the other sections from cliffs each day to keep them fresh but. Anyone disagree with Physiology and genetics being the majority of the questions on the bio section?

I would say Cell Biology, Physiology, and Genetics->(including DNA technology, and Genetic basis of development) would be the big three so to speak.

But I mean its so broad you have to study everything.

Even just those 3 "topics" I mentioned are subdivided into hundreds of things.

I am definatly following your advice. I took time over yesterday and today to review physiology (Note: I have had physiology, histology, cell biology, neurobiology and pharmocology within the past year and a half and its been 4-5 years since I had basic biology.). I went over cliffs and Kaplan at the same time topic by topic from the Top Score outline. They seemed to cover the topics Very shallowly... I am tempted to take my physiology book out. Is that necessary?

I did not break out my Physiology textbooks for the bio section

As long as you know the basics of the systems you will be fine. I used cliffs to brush up on all the systems and even though I used campbells again for the system chapters there wasnt anything extra that cliffs left out.

The only thing Cliffs is weak on systems wise is the fetal circulation

off the top of my head, I would say circulation, digestive, and renal are the big 3.

immune, endocrine, and muscular are also right up there, but these last 3 are pretty straightforward in my opinion (for what you need to know DAT wise atleast).

If you get 1 question on each of those systems thats already 6 easy points 🙂
