Hi everyone! I have seen this question floating around for some time and just wanted to gain some clarity. I recently took a class under the psychology department at my school called biopsychology, and it had a very heavy emphasis on biology. This is the course description: Explores biological influences on human behavior. Topics include sensation, sleep, hunger, sexual behaviors, memory, attention, movement, fear, stress, aggression, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and schizophrenia. Students learn how neurotransmitters and hormones influence behavior, and how these effects are modified by drugs.
Similarly, cognitive neuroscience is offered through the psych department, with the following course description: Cognitive neuroscience blends the study of behavior (psychology) with the study of the brain (neuroscience). This course will introduce students to this field by examining the brain's role in behaviors such as perception, attention, memory, learning, planning, and other cognitive activities.
Would these count towards my BCPM GPA? There is no neuroscience department at my school, so these courses are only offered through the psychology department. Thanks so much!
