Hi guys,
Does anyone know which chapters in HY Biostats are the most important? I hear there's not that many biostats questions on the exam...so I was hoping to just read the important chapters instead of reading the whole book.
Thanks!

Agree with above posters - the biostats on step 1 is very basic. If you want to read HY, then just read the topics mentioned in first aid. Those are pretty much the topics step 1 usually concentrates on. Just have them down. I would study them from FA and read the ones you don't have a good grasp on in HY. Hope that helps....

I had even less than missbonnie, I had maybe 3 questions and they were all really simple.

I have a little 3x5 card with this info on it (I made it for myself):

Sensitivity = true + / all disease
Specificity = true - / all disease

PPV = true + / all +
NPV = true - / all -

Prevalence = all disease / total

That, plus that 5% rule thingy was all I needed for those 3 questions. Honestly I'd worry a lot more about biochem 🙂

edit: oh yeah and read through the types of studies before the exam
