Hi all,

So I have a little bit of an issue, the school that I will be matriculating at in august 2016 requires 6 credits of behavioral science of which I THOUGHT I had but they are not accepting one class.

Because of this I need 2 credits of behavioral science and was planning on taking a course through UC Berkeley extension. The issue with this is that the school requires transcripts in by June 1st and the earliest I can complete this class (3 credits, 90 days minimum) will be very close to the deadline and with grading etc. may not have the credits by June 1st.

My question is has anyone dealt with this similar situation? Can I ask the school if they will work with me to give me a short extension (since they only JUST let me know they weren't accepting the other course), are there any faster ways to get the 2 credits? Any other suggestions on where to take the course?

Thanks for any and all help!

Yes, you should contact the school. Most schools would be willing to work with you over something minor like this. If you're in the SF area, though, there are a number of schools you may be able to take the class through that would allow you to get your transcript in earlier than that. Give the admissions office a call tomorrow and shoot them a message in the meantime.

I'm currently in the Boston area but most options I could find were fixed start dates or expensive

Are you taking an online course through UC Berkeley extension? Just call your school, especially if you show that you're taking it they'll more than likely be fine with it. Can you not take it now if it's not fixed start date and get the grade in on time?

Yea just taking through online cause I've heard of UCBex and it was reasonably priced.

The problem with the fixed date classes I found was that I was too late to sign up for spring semester and the later dates would be a decent bit later than the June 1st deadline

Look at spring quarter classes through similar institutions. UCLA extension is a quarter system school, and you thus may be able to get it done before your deadline.

Not sure if they offer the same array of classes, but I'd just try looking for other schools that are on the quarter rather than the semester system. You would thus be able to get it done before summer started if you took it at a quarter system school.
