anyone interview at Drexel with some bad student interviewers? my friend said her student interviewer not only asked her where else she applied, but also where she had received interviews, and what she liked and disliked about each of the schools. is it just me, or is that incredibly inappropriate? she felt really awkward answering the questions. the interviewer was also apparently a nasty b*tch. just wondering if anyone else experienced the same.

ps - she said her faculty interviewer was awesome

my understaning suggests that the interviewer has 0 input with regards to your acceptance, so relax 🙂

not sure id quite consider that 'bizarre'; if the student interviewer told her to 'bend over to the front, touch your toes' that would be 'bizarre'

Actually, the student interviewer gets some type of sheet where they evaluate you on a numeric scale on things such as communication skills, motivation, etc.

I dont think that is necessarily bizarre. You gotta keep in mind that these med students were once in our shoes so they want to know possibly what you're looking for in a med school. Plus they understand that ALL med applicants unless you're doing EDP usually diversify and apply to more than 1 school so your friend shouldn't take it too personally as that same student interviewer will ask most her applicants the same questions...

yup, my student interviewer at Drexel asked me the same thing. In fact, almost all of my interviewers ask me those questions. It's really wierd since I thought those were "illegal" questions to ask.

drexel doesn't screen. send it in if you can.

what's wrong with those questions? those are all fair questions, and i've been asked them many times at interviews, by students and faculty interviewers.

I think its fair for them to ask you where all you are interviewing. It doesn't really affect your status either way, ie they don't decide to accept or reject you based on the fact that you will be interviewing at X school. However, it is up to you to curb your enthusiasm for the other schools, as THAT might count against you when they ask. If you're at some school and they ask you about X school that you're interviewing at and you go off about how wonderful it is, they're going to wonder why you want to get into their school when you're already sold on another place!
