This is really bizarre, and I know you guys will be crackin up some some jokes on me, but here goes...

A girl I am getting to know firmly believes that there are remains of your previous partners on you for up to seven years. Not referring to STD's, but physical remains of a partner. She said she read it in a high school health book. Another friend confirmed she also learned this in high school health. I'm a science major and this sounds totally bogus to me, but I couldn't find anything on Google regarding this. I'm thinking once all fluids have gone away, and everything has been washed, and no pubic hairs are remaining, there isn't any trace at all of a past partner. She says it's up to seven years. What gives?

Well, when you share fluids with someone, some part is absorbed by the body, ultimately broken down and reused. Add to that that everything in the body is replaced on a 7-10 year cycle and I suppose one could make the argument that there may still be atoms kicking around from that contact seven years down the line. I don't think there is any possibility that more complex molecules persist for seven years, but I've been wrong before.

Regardless, it would be like saying that what you ate for breakfast this morning is still with you in seven years.
