At one of my interviews, the very last question I was asked was
"Is there anything else you would like me to know?"
And me, too stupid to just accept that we had just had a good interview and to just let the interview end, responded with:
"Well, I want you to know that I really want to go to the Blah Blah Blah School of Medicine."
To which he responded:
"Yes, but I'm sure that everybody that is interviewing here wants to go to school here."
And then I start to panic, realizing my mistake too late. Instead of just calling it quits, I begin to try to 'salvage' the situation (yeah right).
"I think everybody interviewing here wants to go to medical school, but 'I' want to go to Blah Blah Blah School of Medicine because of X, Y, Z."
I know, I know: that was a stupid thing to say and assumed that everybody was a cynical pre-med and basically tried to throw everybody else under the bus. He gives me an interesting look, and the interview is over.
Accepted.
