I'll be going to my 1st blind interview on Friday. I'm a bit scared!!
After getting somehow "comfortable" with the open-file interviews, I fear that the blind one can be so much of a conversation that it could lead to a topic that I don't really want to talk about. After working so hard to get a relatively decent MCAT score, I prefer that they know my #s before meeting me.

Am I worrying too much? Any tips anyone?

yes, you're worrying too much. the purpose of the interview, especially a closed file one, is to get to know you as a person. anyway, if your particular interviewer wants the numbers that bad they'll just ask you (that happened to me once).

You'll do fine. It's just important to remember that they know nothing about you, so you've gotta make sure you always explain yourself. In one of my blind interviews, I started telling this story about what happened when I was abroad, but then I remembered he had no idea where I went. So, yeah, besides that there's not much else to worry about. Also, if a controversial/ethical topic get brought up, just remember it's not what you say but how you say it. Good luck!

I love the blind interviews that the first thing out of their mouths is.....

Whats your GPA?

Whats your MCAT?

So much for blind!

if you have the chance to guide the conversation, steer it towards stuff you feel you've done well in, basically sell urself

i had one blind interview and i didn't really talk about stuff that the interviewer didn't ask me directly. I remember walking out of that room thinking that the interviewer knew nothing about me except why I wanted to be a Dr.

Thanks for the tips everyone!

I'm not great at selling myself, but will simply talk about my background and what has brought me here.

acab if u don't mind me asking could u tell me your mcat and gpa. I haven't gotten a single interview yet (august mcater) but want to know how the scores affect your interview.

Thanks
