I probably hit up SDN more times in a day than any other website (reading the same forums over and over again hoping for new topic), but if I ever feel like venturing over to another type of forum I will click over to my schools blog/forums. Each class has its own page and it is a means to communicate study materials, answer questions, and discuss issues...until recently. Unfortunately, the anonymity that was permitted allowed individuals to say whatever they wanted, no matter how rude or unprofessional. There is a group of people that monitor the entries and will remove them, but now it is becoming quite limited in our ability to ask general questions or discuss issues amongst ourselves. You are now required to put your name (no problem), but they are also not allowing general questions or issues to discuss; it is solely for academic materials (too bland for my taste).
I was wondering if other schools had a similar type of forum for its students. How is it monitored? Do you find it beneficial? What do you use it for?
I hope this is a new topic.
