I submitted my application for Spring AP/CP boards in mid-December. Other than the stuff the program had to send in, NOTHING has been done with my application since (according to the status tracker). Still haven't reviewed my license, medical diploma, etc. Anyone else experiencing this type of delay? Aren't we supposed to be assigned our dates soon?

Don't know about the tracker, but historically ABP has been slothlike in handling such things. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if you get a letter assigning your dates, followed by a letter indicating your application was received, followed by the tracker being updated. It's not likely to change unless you, your spouse, your PD, your parents, most of your friends, and possibly some news agencies call and email them with daily harassments because they're not responding or updating the fancy tracker, etc., which they double-dog dare you to do at your peril. Many organizations need a little such motivation from time to time, though it's hard to apply pressure when they hold all the cards. Instead you sit, you suffer, unable to schedule travel or work plans, or arrange to fix your application if there was a problem, like many who have gone before you. Frankly, it shouldn't be that hard to "seasonally" hire some extra help, if that's the problem.

If it's any consolation, I seem to recall getting contacted because they still needed a state license or somesuch, despite everything else being a black hole of uncertainty. I may have sent it separately weeks before, I don't recall, but they did seem to notice when more needed to be done with the original file.

I applied to sit for spring boards right before the January deadline, and my status tracker shows all my materials have been reviewed. Still haven't received my date though. If you haven't already, I would contact them to ask about that, hopefully they haven't lost your stuff (they were quick in replying to emails I sent them last month with questions).

Good luck!

Several people in our program have seen updates on the Tracker website, while others have not. We have theorized that they are reviewing our applications in alphabetical order, since those people who have been approved are towards the beginning of the alphabet. Alas, I am towards the end of the alphabet, and my account has shown absolutely no activity 🙁
I know that the APB does contact people if they are missing documents or if they have made errors in their application...

I was randomly checking my tracker, when lo and behold I find that they needed a clarification and had definalized my application. Thankfully, I checked the day before it was due back!
So please check your tracker periodically.

FYI last year we were supposed to have our dates by "Mid-March". We actually got them April 1st. No explanation about the delay or any updates whatsoever. just wait... and wait some more.

Bastards.

Finally got my application approved this week. Guess they are just "really busy" this year (it seems like the board is surprised to be receiving applications this year -- what are all these applications doing here???).

perhaps Trogdor should burninate them?

My application has been approved for over a month (last name in beginning of alphabet). Still no date.

How hard can this be to anticipate? Every year, the same problem. Yet, there is absolutely nothing we can do. Indeed, "they" hold all the cards, although I am starting to think it is not a "they," but a he or she, as there must be only one person who works for the ABP. Expletive!!

so annoyed. I am still waiting on my application to be approved. I called and sent e-mails over a week ago and no response. Grrrrr.

My board dates were assigned today... :scared:

Got my boards date. Good luck to all taking the Spring exam.

Got my dates too. Maybe now it will motivate me to do something.

Great for you I got the first F$%^&* week. If I ever get herpes from someone I'll probably still hate teh ABP more than that person.

You should be happy about that. Get it over and done with. It will take about 2 weeks just to get your bowel movement back in proper working order. The sooner the better, I say.

Are you taking the AP/CP boards now? I thought (per another thread) you were already looking for a job?

Im already out of training and working so with balancing work and study I was hoping for more rather than less time. And yes, im looking for other work while i complete some of my boards- i didnt need them yet for what i was doing, but in retrospect i wish i had just gotten them over with.

Maybe not being board certified already after 2 fellowships (as you posted earlier) is complicating things with the job search. I have heard of this happening before with others. It could imagine it being really hard to compete with people already board certified when you aren't yet.

I hope things turn around for you soon.

First week. I am glad it will be over soon. Cant take it anymore.
