How many different boards are there that will certifiy someone to practice in EM? I saw a physician who listed his board cert as: American Association of Physician Specialists - Emergency Medicine. What gives? Is this some kind of shady deal? I thought there were one, maybe two legit boards that would certify a physician in EM.

There is only one, ABEM, in every state but Florida. In Florida, AAPS is considered valid legally but probably not in hiring practices.

Yes.

What FF said.

Take care,

You guys failed to mention the KFFBEM. Assuming you meet my stringent credential requirements and make six low monthly payments of only $99.99, you could be licensed in as little as six months (documentation and give me fifty dollars fees apply). The KFFBEM is HUGE in oceanic countries, especially the growing desert island "hermit with a gingival abscess" crowd.
