I agree with Quinn - the waiting before and after the test was more stressful than the test itself.

I also got mine today. Congrats to all. Now if I could just figure out the answer to one of my cases....

Well I think I passed - I went on the website to change my address and it shows that my certification expires in 2018. I'll have to wait for the letter to confirm . . .

How many of you had preparation for OB's in residency? My residency has all the residents do mock OB's several times during residency. Our PD basically says that we all know the medicine required to pass, but that we need to learn how to "play the game". Having learned the game it's clear that there's a lot of truth to that. For, one can make a correct diagnosis, administer appropriate treatment, and still score poorly for not doing a complete physical or talking to family members. Basically, a lot of the OB cases are designed in such a way that punish test takers for practicing focused, efficient EM.

In any case, congrats to you all!

Good points. The orals are not like treating real patients and there are ways to "play the game." For example reciting the "IV,O2, monitor" mantra at the beginning of each case.

At UC Davis back in the day we did mock orals with the professors. In retrospect they were highly valuable just to get an idea of what the format was.
