Hi. Okay, so on board exams like USMLE and COMLEX how often do they use the prototypical drug of a given class in the question? Is it going to be extraordinarily helpful do know every last name of every drug class or will the most common two or three suffice? thanks!

Get yourself a copy of First Aid for step 1 and calm down. If it's not in there, it's probably not worth bothering with. Step 1 Pharma focuses a lot on your understanding of mechanism of action, so the questions will be about drugs with actions/side effects which are well delineated in the literature (why ACEi causes cough, where various antibiotics work in the cell). For the other Steps you'll pick up a lot as you go, no need to worry about it now. IMHO, pharm is 90% in First Aid, the other 10% is a crapshoot and not worth the mountain of study time you would need to cover every single detail.
