Hi everyone,

I just have a lot of questions / confusion as to what I should be focusing on. I’m an M1 and my school is P/F for pre-clinical.

My school’s plan is to do 1.5 years for pre-clinical, then go straight to clerkships, and then have dedicated for Step 1 post-clerkship and I guess take Step 2 at some point after that?

Right now I’m focusing on just doing well in pre-clinical, but I am curious about board stuff. It seems like this situation is relatively new (both Step 1 being likely P/F and also taking Step 1 after clerkships) so I’m having trouble finding good advice.

So anyone have any advice in general or regarding the following questions:

1. When to start studying for Step 1?
2. When to take Step 2? (I literally know nothing)
3. When to start studying for Step 2?
4. How much to focus on Step 1 given that it’s P/F?

I think my biggest priority other than passing everything is doing the best I can on Step 2. My current strategy is to focus and do well in school and worry about boards later (like when dedicated begins). Is this a good strategy?

Sorry if this has been covered and thank you!
