I am going to take part I next summer. My school will give us only one week just before exam for studying. I will be very busy next spring due to a lot of course works and lab works.
Virtually. I will not have enough time to look at even old exams. (This is what 3rd yr students experienced this year)

I am going to specialize and I want to do it really well. How early I have to start preparation for part I to get high scores?
Is it good to read dental decks little by little this fall?

🙄

I think it's wise to start studying at least 3 weeks aghead, to get a decent score, at our school, we got off for 2 weeks to study for boards, but i wish I had another week to get some more studying done, the type of studying I am talking about is spending all day at the labary until about 9 or 10 and getting there in the morning, like 9 or 10. But I suggest more if you have less time to study each day.

the 2003 test didn't not seem to be like the any of the old exams at all, not a lot of repeats like the old ones had on it from previous old ones. Decks work ok for the last two or three days to review what you covered studying, but don't try to study from them exclusivly, it won't work well. Not sure if the class of 2006 or 2007 will be required to take it on the computer, I am in the ADA test to take it again on the computer next week, so I will report to everyone then on how it was and if it was the same at the 2003 paper test , etc.

thanks, marcusdds!
Good to know that deck is not enough.
It will be great if you can share your computer test experience with us here!

BTW, What do you recommend in addition to dental deck?
Kaplan book or board review books?

Thanks!!!🙂

I suggest using your class notes, I went through all of mine that is what helped the most, but took the most time. I read som of Kaplan seems to cover too much material which wasn't on the test at all, but some of it helped. but others in my class swore by it.
