Board studying

Orals: I did the AAEM course and read 1.5 study books and took it. I thought it was pretty easy. AAEM course was gold.

Written: I was working 160-180 hours/mo that first year so I kind of studied when I could but I think I did around 1.5K questions on Rosh Review which was my main study source. I don't think I read much of anything. I passed easily but I seem to remember it felt more difficult than I had anticipated. As long as you've been passing your ITEs comfortably you should do fine. Most of my questions were during the last 1-2 months leading up to my exam.

How long did people actually study for boards?
Ran through Okuda with a friend 1x for the orals. Passed. Orals are more about playing the game than knowing EM.

Made a point senior yr of residency to NOT study for the ITE. Did absolutely terribly, which solidified in my head that I should probably actually study for the boards. Went through peer VIII and maybe another review book a few times. Passed comfortably. No idea how much total study time was involved. Probably something like 10-20 hrs over a couple of months.

Lol, I did the exact same thing except I didn’t study out of a serious case of senioritis and bombed the ITE in my senior year, was at average prior 2 years.

Also did peer 8 and 1000 questions, but I’m dating myself there. I didn’t do Rosh, but it looks like it is highly regarded by colleagues so definitely worth checking out at the least.
