Honest questions;
1) What is the difference between a body fellowship and an abdominal fellowship?
2) Is there anywhere to read how many of these fill (like what percent)?
3) Is there a standardized application. Does this use the match like some of the other fellowships.

Thanks.

These are generally considered to mean the same thing, however there is wide variation between programs. Some may offer a ton of body MR. Some less. Some may have you cover tons of CT. Some less. Some may have you do procedures, others not as much, many none at all. Some may offer additional electives in breast imaging, MSK or other things while many do not offer this.

There is no match for body/abdominal fellowship and no publicly available data that I know of.

There's incredible variability of what these designations mean. It's best to look at program description of fellowships on websites (and still these descriptions may not clearly tell the whole picture).

Agree with above. One piece of advice... pick a place with heavy MRI. Most people feel like they can read body CT by the end of residency and are expected to read it on some level by the time they make it to a practice. Procedures are a plus as well.
