Thx for the info. I just inquired about volunteering--missed the information sessions.
I was joking about the "gunner" thing! I didnt really think that anyone'd jump on it, let alone so fast!

I don't know anything about volunteering for it, but this exhibit was absolutely awesome here in Philly. Even med students who've already dealt with gross anatomy lab liked it!

Body Worlds was awesome. Saw it in Chicago.

BW II is here in Toronto too :meanie:

Oh, I KNOW I am NOT a gunner, so I didn't take anything from the comment. The museum is six blocks from my house, so I almost feel obligated to volunteer if i can. Then, I can also allow my students to get some prof brownie points for attending!

Just to let you all know, I saw this exhibit last night and it was great. The bodies were amazingly well preserved and you can see lots of cool things. They had one part where they preserved the arteries of the arm, but used acid-etching to remove all of the other tissue. They had a lot of pathological samples - cancerous growths, aneurisms, infarction scars - lots of great examples of how things go wrong in the body.

They had only recently found a way to preserve fat tissue and preserve the white color, so they only had a few examples of obese persons, and these were gross - one guy was partioned and 95% of a head-to-toe saggital slice was fat. Get out and exercise folks!

I saw the body worlds exhibit here in philly and it was great. Anyone who gets the chance should see it
