Hey y’all!

I have been reading “An American Sickness” by Elisabeth Rosenthal to pass the time while waiting for schools to get back to me. It’s a really good read so far.

Was wondering if anyone had any book recommendations that talk about the history of medicine, the history of the system of healthcare, books written by physicians, etc.

The Greatest Benefit to Mankind: A Medical History of Humanity by Roy Porter
The Emperor of all Maladies by Siddhartha Mukherjee
My Own Country: A Doctor's Story Paperback by Abraham Verghese
The Doctor Who Fooled the World: Science, Deception, and the War on Vaccines by Brian Deer
The Winter Soldier by Daniel Mason (this is the only novel on my list, about a new Austrian doctor on the Eastern Front in WW1.)

Everything Is Tuberculosis: The History and Persistence of Our Deadliest Infection - John Green (my favorite book of 2025!)
When Breath Becomes Air - Paul Kalanithi -
