I recently saw a guy in the ER that was complaining of a "electric shock" sensation intermittently x3 that went from the front of his forhead over the top of his head to the occiput. he was also complaining of random episodes that felt like "hot water flowing through his veins" in his chest that only lasted a few seconds and came on randomly. He was 35 y/o in good health with no pmhx, no significant fmhx. in any case all the tests for cardiac came back normal and ERMD called it stress.

In any case, it seems like there are a lot of weird symptoms that can present for stress and I'm wondering if there is any kind of book out there or resource of any kind that covers these kind of weird symptoms. Does anyone know of anything?

This is actually a common type of complaint for SSRI withdrawal syndrome...biggest offender being effexor, but paxil is also bad. Other serotonergic agents being withdrawn, if he is not on an antidepressant could conceivably cause similar symptoms (at least theoretically).

From the information you gave, the information, at least for me, is too broad. His symptoms could be neurological, psychiatric, possibly cardiovascular, or a combination of these and other problems.
