Hey, what books would y'all recommend as a good overview for a sports medicine month in medical school and/or residency? What about you guys who did a sports medicine fellowship, what did you use to study? I'm primarily looking for introductory textbooks but question books, review books, and online resources are also appreciated. Thank you in advance!

books related to sports medicine / ortho that I keep on my shelf:

Procedures for Primary Care (excellent, not just for sports medicine. great explanations and pictures of every procedure you could want. a must-buy in my opinion)

Sports Medicine Patient Advisor (great handouts for patients...i have the 2nd edition as PDFs on my laptop to print for patients during clinic)

Essentials of Musculoskeletal Care (nice reference book but more information than you usually need. i like the book as a reference text)

Fracture Management for Primary Care (nice explanations but does not replace hands-on casting practice)

These look great, but they all look mainly like reference books. Are there any good introductory books that you would recommend? Something that you could read cover to cover before/during a sports medicine rotation?

Essentials of Musculoskeletal Care : This is a really nice text. It also comes with a CD, demonstrating the usual specialized physical exam maneveurs. It also has some basic physio suggestions for patients, that you can print out.

Very good overall book. Highly recommended . It weighs a ton though.
