I heard that the NMS book is very good plus Qbank from Kaplan. That's all. Anyone know of a good general book to use? Boards & Wards? I heard that First Aid for step 2 wasn't that good.
However, the main lesson I learned from step 1 was that I had TOO many resources so I want to keep my list down this time around.

I'm still hunting for good books too, and have heard the same thing about First Aid (that it's not as good for Step 2 as it is for Step 1). I thought Boards & Wards was pretty good (high-yield, quick-read, useful at times during third year) although I have an older edition...hopefully, it's even better now. If I combine that with QBank and one other comprehensive book, that's probably what I'll go with.
Do any of you guys/gals have opinions on:
Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine: Self-Assessment and Board Review
or
Crush Step 2?
Thanks in advance.

From your description of this in another Step 2 thread, it sounds like something I'd like to check out. Thanks!

I've heard good things about Step 2 Secrets as well...what makes it so good?
Funny, I just got home from Barnes and Noble and while there I looked through some of the Step 2 books. My opinion was that USMLE Step 2 Secrets looked very good. It seems small enough to carry with you and reference at periodoc free times but it is also written in a manner like what you would expect as an M3 being pimped by an intern/resident/attending. Seeing how I just statrted 3rd year, I will probably get this book and use it as a review during rotations.
I just posted a thread with some step 2 advice, and it may be helpful to you. Good luck....
