Does anybody know if there are books that give you tons and tons of practice problems for classes such as histo, anatomy, physiology and biochemistry?

For example practicing for physics in undergrad from EK 1001 physics.

I am looking for similar books as the EK series that can help me while I am studying for the courses in medical school.

Try the board review series books. A lot of the questions we have had on exams are almost identical to those types of questions.

The pretest series has been working really well for me so far. The explanations are great.

wow really??? nobody knows books that I can practice problems from? I thought medical school is all about practice practice practice...

The BRS series of review books always has the most questions for review books. So if you get the BRS for Histo (Actually called microanatomy i think) you get a few hundred questions with that. Same for anatomy, physiology and biochemistry, in fact I used those a ton during fist year.

Also, there is a small book that has a ton of physiology question that go along with the Guyton text book, if you use that book I'd highly recommend that.

Lastly, our school gave us a free subscription to Exammasters, not the greatest questions, but there are a lot there as well.

Hope it helps!

I agree with Johnny re. BRS books. Also, most courses will give out practice exams.

The other issue is that studying in medical school is not like studying for the MCAT. Most questions on medical school exams aren't "problems" like MCAT questions. It's all about regurgitation of vast amounts of memorized facts as opposed to creative application of a relatively small amount of information.

The PreTest series will have more questions than BRS will. It is a dedicated question book. I use it for biochem, pharm and path. They separate it by system so cardiovascular will have at least 50 questions in it. They give explanations with the answers and I have found them helpful. I use the red physio review book by Guyton and the review book that goes with Robbins path

Thank you guys for the replies. I had a chance to look up some of the BRS and pretest books in my school library and they seem to be awesome.

For Micro, I have Lippincott's Micro & Immuno Q&A and find it to be a fantastic book. Robbins and Coltran Review of Pathology for path, BRS Anatomy and Gray's Anatomy Review are excellent too.
