Hey everyone,

So I have my DAT coming up in a couple weeks and have really been studying hard. I decided to take my first PAT section test from bootcamp today and received a 20. I'm aiming for a 22+ on this section, so I was just curious to see inputs on how I should take my score compared to the real DAT. I unfortunately was not able to even attempt the TFE section at ALL and guessed and got 4/15 right on that section. So I'm just a bit nervous on my timing because the sections overall took longer than what I expected. Thanks for any input in advance! (PS. I know there's a few threads on this but being so anxious, I decided to make this post! 😀)

---I received a 66/90

If you can get a 20 on bootcamp you are ready for the real DAT. The real DAT is easier. In general, schools don't put too much weight on the PAT (as opposed to the sciences and reading comprehension).

Same here and I got a 22. If you're getting 20+ during practice, you should be good to go. Just focus on timing.

Dang nice! Could you weigh in on how each section was compared to the real DAT? So I can improve on my timing/more on each section.

I thought DAT boot camp was harder in every section compared to the actual DAT. I used boot camp as if it was a real exam. Timed myself and took everything in one sitting. On the real DAT I finished every section with at least 10 minutes to spare and ended up doing pretty well with an AA 23, TS 22, and PAT 22.

That's amazing man, great job killing it. Do you remember what you were scoring on the BC sections?

Used bootcamp Pat and eyeball game that Ari suggested. And I never got above a 19 on the Bootcamp PAT. 26 on my actual PAT

I was around 19-20s. I took an exam a day leading up to my actual DAT. I thoroughly studied the questions that I did not fully understand and made sure I reinforced the areas that I was lacking in.

PAT in bc was pretty on point, if not a little harder. 19-21 on BC, 22 on actual PAT
I thought the Crack DAT PAT was as close to the real exam as possible, and I used a lot of different materials.

I agree with this. Bootcamp was great practice but I thought the test was more like crack dat. Make sure you miss very few on TFE, holepunch, and cube counting.

I got a 23 on DAT.

Hole-punch and cube counting are gimmies. Really drill them so you get 100% of them right. As for TFE, Pattern Folding, and Angle Ranking, people are good at some and not others. I never got above a 21 on Bootcamp, and never more than half the TFE right, but got a 22 on the real thing with guessing on all the TFE and making sure I got most of all the rest correct. Gotta pick your battles.

But I agree that Bootcamp scores are usually lower than the real thing. Good luck!
You literally wrote what my gameplan is for this section haha. I find the pattern pretty easy, but the angles and TFE are a bit tricky and kind of luck based too honestly. Definitely will probably follow through with this, it's a pretty taxing section.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. Definitely easing me a bit on what to expect. I'll continue to just practice and see from there!

FWIW I averaged 19.5 (only took 4 tests) on DAT Bootcamp and got a 23 on the real thing.

I averaged maybe a 22 on Bootcamp and scored a 26 on actual DAT.

Beware of the rocks. I got rocks on the actual DAT, and they killed me.

I averaged a 20 on bootcamp and got a 24 on the actual test.
I usually tried to go through the angles really fast so I wouldn't second guess myself which left me a lot of time at the end to check my answers over on pattern folding and TFE.
