#16 is the 1st TFE problem
I dont understand how to approach these problems... Can anyone please explain it? I know it is very easy for some of you but I just cant visualize these... thanks
Here you go!
Well i know that this is very poorly drawn...and compared to the 3D solutions provided in the answers of Bootcamp, it may be easier to just rotate that thing. But here's a quick breakdown:
First I look at the perimeter and make sure nothing is sticking out. We see now that this figure is a giant cube with certain boxes missing.
From the FRONT picture, the top-left is a solid square, which means something is missing and you can see into this space. We know from this that there is a box missing from the overall cube (refer to picture). We also see a dashed square in the bottom-right so we know that we cannot see it but there is something missing in the back (since it is a square it is hard to distinguish from which part of the cube the square is missing).
We move on to the END picture, and see that the top-left has now become a set of dashed lines, and the bottom-right is now a set of solid lines. This confirms that the missing box is in the top left, and we can now deduce the figure.
I know that it sounds easier said than done, but hopefully the provided picture can help. I didn't want to copy the Bootcamp picture onto this thread because i don't want to get in trouble, but let me know if you need any more help!
