I am taking Anatomy and Physiology and I am bored with it.
I should have taken something harder.
I know it all so far, because I took intermediate physiology, and both bios.
I also studied extra for the PCAT.
Is going to be an easy A, but I am so bored...

Anybody else unchallenged out there?

I wish I could talk to a live person in the ad com. and have them understand I do not need to take this pre-req.

I understand completely. I was bored to tears in A & P. My class was on Saturday morning and there were so many other things that I would have rather been doing. Both semesters and labs were easy A classes. I'd already taken vertebrate zoology and it just seemed to be a waste of my time.

Just think of them as easy GPA booster classes.

I'm with both of you. My anatomy class is crazy easy. It feels really weird to sit in are class where people a scribbling furiously while I'm listening to my iPod. I thought the class would be a little bit more challenging.

Really? That sounds unusual. Physiology in my university is the hardest class you can ever get.

What school did you go to?

The gist of the thread was that someone who had already taken physiology at a university was having to take Anatomy & Physiology as a pre req for pharmacy. UF prefers that you take A & P. If you've already taken physiology, then the class is pretty damn boring.

Thank you! That was exactly the gist.
Extrapolating on that...What the hmm is the UF ad com thinking? Just making sure you really know your cell life cycle I guess?
😴 :barf:

i have not taken anatomy yet.. and this thread is getting my hopes up. 😛 all the older students i have asked in my school tell me that anatomy is really tough. but a couple of them HAVE taken physiology. my cousin says she has no social life.

If old is in your "thirties" than I would qualify as an older student and Anatomy and Physiology was very easy for me. I know some of us old folks have a hard time retaining information but, somehow it came easy for me! 😍

well, i studied for it(not a lot) and got 100's on all the tests including the final. Its just lot of memorization(names). taking the second one right now and it's allright.

How is the lab portion in your Anatomy class? Do you have to dissect anything or did you do this in your previous classes? I found the human cadaver dissection quite interesting. The cat just grossed me out. 🙂

I've taken two semesters of Human anatomy and physiology, and an upper level animal physiology course as part of my major at UF. The difficulty of Human A&P does not even come close to animal phys. I've also taken exercise physiology and advanced exercise physiology as electives...physiology is the most interesting and applicable subject there is. At least I think so.

The class just started. No disection yet.

Late thirties here, the only thing that changed since my twenties was being a mom. I don't feel that I lost brain cells yet.
oh! I don't stress about bad teachers as much anymore. I give them what they want, cross my tees and dot my i's and move on.
I don't have to make them realize that they are wasting student's time. The good teachers don't do this, and the bad teachers will never learn, not from me anyway...

I would spend my time doing something else then. Tell the professor you already have some anatomy and ask them to recommend some more advanced materials you can study.

Or use the class time to advance yourself in other ways. Study for harder classes, start writing a book, whatever.

There's no reason to be bored!
