Hey ya'll. Now that SDN is back up and we're in the last stretch of Boston U's second wave of decisions, let's hear from all the BU hopefuls. I interviewed there Jan 10th and ABSOLUTELY loved it. They said they'll send decisions in mid-late Feb, so we're getting close...

If you hear ANYTHING from BU please post it so we (okay, I) can be on the lookout.

BU is my top choice, and i am PRAYING I get in.

Big Red, I definitely feel that! BU is my #1 choice hands down - I just set myself up with the Army scholarship to pay for it IF I get in.

FYI, I've seen a couple people in recent threads who have received rejections, but they don't say when they got them - probably in the first wave.

Every day I am so excited that today might be the day...and next week I'm going to London for a week and a half - what if I have to wait until I get back?! Ahhh!!!

Good luck!!

I'm waiting too!

Hey GoRedSox,
Isn't BU waiting to send out acceptances until the end of Feb? I am waiting too, but I have not gone into crazy waiting mode as of yet. Once Feb 25 hits, THEN I will go into crazy waiting mode!

Where did ya hear they are waiting til the end of Feb to send them out?

Hey Brutus,
I got the letter back in December and I remember them originally saying the first letters of acceptance would be sent by the end Dec and then they weren't sent until mid Jan. I figured now that since they would prob wait a few weeks before meeting again they were not letting us know until the end of Feb. plus doesn't it say that in the letter, I have to check again when I get home. Plus, a friend of mine goes to school there and I had spoken to him about sending a loi. He later spoke to a prof of his who was on the committee and said that as long at the letter was in by the end of Feb it would be in time. That's why I deduced we wouldnt hear anything for a few more weeks. But then again I could be wrong and we could find out earlier. I get nauxious (sp) just thinking about it. But those are my own "problems."

BTW, best of luck to everyone trying to get in! I forgot to mention that last time... Hopefully we'll all get to pay $50K a year for med school! Seriously I figure if I am happy it will be worth it.

Hey all,
I was just there a few weeks ago, the dean actually told us flat out that their last interview day was Feb. 7th, and after that they would start going back through apps, letters would go out the last week of February, and we should sent updates and "relevant" letters until that time. It's coming.....soon.....

bump.

any news??!

I'm in london, so I have no idea what's going on!!

GoRedSox,

I'm anxiously awaiting any news as well. I expect to hear something if not this week then next. I live in Boston so any correspondence should arrive pretty quickly. I will be sure to let you know.

They seemed to be on the ball with their first wave of acceptances coming out pretty close to when they said they would. Also many people in that first wave were notified via email by their interviewers a few days before actual letters were received. I wonder if that will hold true for the second wave.

At least spring training has arrived to help occupy the anxious days.

I am so glad to see all those BU hopefuls. BU remains my first choice. But I was afraid not too many people felt that way, mainly because of the hefty price tag. If you guys don't mind, tell me a bit why BU is your first choice.
Well, good luck to all of you still waiting. Hope to see you in April at the second-look visit.

I will be at the second look weekend. Good luck to all of you. Money aint a thang.

aight so since they accept a total of about 25% of those interviewed, ans day they accepted about 1/4 of their class...which would be like 50 kids? in the first round, and equally rejected at least the same amount, what do you guys think our chances are of getting in on this final round?? my friend here who got in said that most kids on hold end up getting in because they reject most that they dont want and b/c of waitlist movement, most get in?
haha who knows, my dumb rationalizations.
let the good times roll.... hopefully at BU!

I'll be at the weekend too... go figure, BU is the only school to accept me in two friggin' years of applying; I'm just happy I'm going somewhere

Is BU's second look visit a whole weekend long? I think a had something that talked about it. But, I can't remember where I put.
If anyone knows much about it, please give me some details. When is it? How many days? What do they do?
I hope it'll be a lot of fun!

Hey Guys,
I have to admit when I saw this thread got buped back up I was worried that everyone got their acceptance letters yeterday and I missed out. I was def afraid to open it up. Anyhow, I too plan on camping out at my mailbox all week and I hope that all of us get some good news soon. Good luck and hopefully we will get to see each other next year!

Another BU hopeful here too. I was really impressed with the lengths they took to take care of their interviewees. The personal touches like personally signing correspondences and sending updates about the process really stood out to me. The location is AWESOME and it's just the tuition that freaks me out. I really don't know what I would do if I got in there, since it is such a good (but expensive) school. Maybe I'll wait and see how the financial aid works out. Dr. Witzburg just oozes kindness and understanding and totally helped ease my fears about my interview. I'm curious to see how things work out.

Good luck to all you fellow BU hopefuls!

has anyone called the admissions office for an ETA?

Did you guys send an update/letter of interest to the school?

I did.

yes, i sent an update letter and letter of interest after my interview too.

ditto.

you know I think this also will lower the number of us in the playing field. I am sure they had asked us to send another letter of intent to filter out those who are not interested anymore. So hopefully, this will increase our chances!!!!!!!!!!

fyi...i just called the admissions office to ask if they were still going to be sending decisions this week. the woman who answered said "yes, they should be going out in the next one to two weeks"

You are joking right? Two more weeks! Talk about anticlimactic. Yeah I too sent the whole letter if intent, unfortunately i gave an old copy of it to a friend today to use as a model for the one he has to write and he told me that the date still said 2002 on it. I figure I might as well call em up and tell them to withdraw my app right now. what a bonehead... although I figure if i overlooked it, maybe they did too😳)

I interviewed at BU today, I am a student in BUSM MA in medical science program and it looks like they will be interviewing students from this program for the rest of the week. My interviewer said decisions would be mailed in mid-march

Are you serious??? We have to wait one more month? This is killing me.

Does anyone applying to BU remember if they asked us to send them a copy of our credit report for financial aid purposes or just FAFSA?

Muchos gracias,
CT

You do not need to submit credit report. I've already submitted all my financial aid papers, I actually took them there myself, and the lady in the office checked everything and said I was all set.

I wonder if that snow in Boston is going to slow down the adcom???

Does anyone know BU's school code? I don't know where to send a copy of my FAFSA.

Do you still have the red folder they gave us? In it there was a brochure on financial aid and the code is on the back of it by the contact info i think.

wonderful....Thanks, crazyterp.

So, I did the deed last Monday and called BU for an update. Any one want to do the job this week to see if they are sending letters out?

Bastards! One to two weeks. Is there an echo on this thread?

thanks for calling crazyterp!

how much longer can 1-2 week go on????!!!!!

patience is a virtue i don't have right now!

I just emailed my interviewer about when decisions would be sent out, and he said that they were being sent out "as we speak"...sooo, that means any day now...😱

I am so happy for and jealous of the person who had his interviewer call him today! I am wishing so hard for my phone to ring!!!!!
