hey guys, anyone going to the open house? also, if you are, is anyone staying at a hotel ? do you know which T is best to take to BU, is it the orange line to Mass Ave? how much of a walk is that. sorry, im from nyc no clue about the boston transit system, ive been lookin @ maps and im like wtf is this inbound/outbound crapola lol. thanks 4 your help 🙂

what line to take depends on where ur coming from
usually its the green line to hynes convention center and then from there u take a bus (either #1 or CT1) to the medical center. i suggest the ct1, cuz it says "BU Medical Center" so ur sure ur taking the right one. if u take the orange line to the mass ave stop u can also take the bus from there, but its also a 10-15 min walk to the campus from there

BTW
inbound = towards the city (usually the park St T stop)
outbound = away from the city

If you can, stay at the Hampton inn (I think that's the name, its the one that's named similar to that on the interview e-mail) that's just a block away. That's where I'll be. Not much around there for evening time, but it's nice to just be able to walk to the school.

Here's the Hampton Inn info. I stayed here for my interview and they have a BU rate if you ask for it.

Hampton Inn & Suites (1 block from BUSM campus)
811 Massachusetts Avenue
Boston, MA 02118

its the one on washington street near the new england medical center stop on the orange line. is that the same thing ? is this far? it was suggested in the email from BU as being walkable

ok, so even being a bostonite i admit the T is confusing (not to mention shutting down rediculously early). Quick guide: outbound in a nutshell means AWAY from park street and inbound means TOWARDS it (park street is kinda the central T stop).

Best way to get to BU medical center...unfortunately there are no subways that go directly there (NE Medical center is Tufts, not BU). I would suggest getting the number 1 bus (it goes all the way down massachusetts ave from harvard to dudley station) or to get the silver line and take it to the massachusetts avenue stop. The silver line is a weird line that is actually a bus, not a subway. Go to www.mbta.com and click on "subway" to find out where exactly to catch it.

thanks for all your help you guys, i love sdn! i cancelled my res @ doubletree and made one w the hampton suites so i can just walk across teh street, thansk again!

I don't know about the SCOMSA activities, but I did ask the Asst. Dean of Admit about the dress code. She said it's not super dressy but a little nicer than jeans and t-shirts.
