I have received info back from every school that I applied to except BU. I have also called to ask if I should mail the app fee or wait for a post card. Every time I call there is no answer. Whats the deal?

Nope, they won't be admitting a freshman class. Current students will be able to finish this year, then they'll have to go somewhere else a la Northwestern.😱

If they are closed this years and AADSAS knew about it then I want my $$$ back that I paid to have them added to my app. Did BU put this info on their site because I didn't see it?

not just AADSAS fee. i also paid them the app fee.
i really doubt that these news are true. i can not imagine BU just running out of $$.

Actually this isn't too far fetched. The same thing happened to Georgetown Dental. I'm am just shocked that the info isn't posted on their website.

what makes me confused is that why would they dep people's checks, offer interviews knowing that they won't have a freshman class?
it just doesn't make any sense and so for the 1st time, i disagree with jaap and don't believe the news.

I received an application confirmation dated Oct. 3, it said applications will be reviewed after Oct. 30. Thats all ive heard though.

Don't let them pull your chain. These things just don't happen ovenight. Even though Northwestern eventually closed, it was after a lengthy deliberation involving all stake holders, and matriculated students were allowed to finish the program over a four year ramp-down. BU is not ENRON.

i am laughing and seriously i was soooooo confused as to why jaap (who is gotten some good rep here) was finally wrong.
it is really sad that we can't find something better to do on a sat other than sdn. thank god we don't get any mail on sun so i can spend the whole day observing my church (football) and not worry about who got what.

I think Rezdawg was trying to alleviate some of that anxiety you refer to. The application process is getting to us all, let's not let the stress wind us up into lifeless, humorless, anal SDN pre-dental freaks!

I was being cynical when I titled the thread "Does BU still exist?" I didn't mean did the college literally exist. Of course it does! Beings that I have called there a number of times with no answer and no correspondance by mail, I wondered if something was up. Or if others have had the same problem. That is why I made the post. Not so I could be jerked around by a couple of guys with nothing better to do. So give me a break Rezdawg. I guess I expected more from a 21 on RC.
Although that isn't the answer I was going for, what you and jaap said has happened in the past (exept being deferred to NW to finish). Programs haven't been shut down in the past due to lack of funding (Georgetown). I was expecting to hear that they don't send out post cards or that they have a new phone #.
