Hey guys, I'm currently trying to decide between these 2 schools and I'm having a hard time. I like both schools. I was looking for opinions on these 2. Especially from Current Students that attend either school.

1) I don't care about cost of tuition
2) I don't care about weather

I just want to go to the better medical school. Any help and opinions are appreciated.

What do you mean by better? Are you talking about rankings?

I would choose the one that takes the higher percentage of its students into its med school.

For example, just read an angry post on the BU thread about a GMSer with a 4.0 in the program who got waitlisted at BU. don't know if that is true or common, but that is the comparison to make.

Without a doubt Miami.

Lock down a place in Miami Beach, work toward that Derm residency in sunny FL and never look back.

I don't really get what that has to do with the quality of the school?

OP - If you want to end up living and practicing in FL, go Miami, if want to end up living and practicing in the NE, especially Boston, go BU. The connections you make in school will probably be most important since you don't care about weather or money.

Who applies to Miami and DOESN'T care about the weather??? I thought that's the ONLY reason people apply there...

It's not the ONLY reason people apply there, but it certainly is nice to be able to go to the beach after every major exam, almost year round. Being surrounded by hot women almost everywhere you go is nice too :meanie:

Is Miami friendly to OOS students? I'm thinking of applying.

They're pretty much the only Florida school who is to some degree. In '08 it looks like ~67% percent of applicants were out of state, and ~30% of matriculants were out of staters.

Have had a couple friends go through it and I hear good things. Personally I am not a fan of Miami, could never live there, BUT it IS Miami and there's just about something for everyone.
