To those of you who received your interview invites today, congrats! How long ago was your status on AADSAS for BU updated to "in review"? Thanks.

Got an interview on 10/16. BU was a safety school of mine and I'm pretty sure I won't be attending the interview, so that date should open up as soon as I tell them I'm not coming to the interview. Do you guys think I should bother going to the interview? I'm not really interested in the school. Boston would be fun and i'm not sure if i'm missing out by not going to the interview.

personally, i'm from the POV that says "if you most likely already have been accepted by a school you like better, then don't waste time/money", but you earned the right to go if you really are interested
Well, that's the reason you applied to safeties right? To make sure you got in somewhere? I plan on going to all my interviews until I have it down on paper that I'm going to dental school somewhere 🙂Got an interview on 10/16. Well they were safety schools before I had taken the DAT and had received other interviews. I know an interview is not a guarantee by any means to gettin accepted, but I feel fairly confident. I'm really only waiting on 2 other interviews from my list of schools and a few are kind of a toss up.
seems like the ones with the interviews have really high scores. My 19/15 and 3.5 is looking worse and worse 🙁

I dunno, not trying to push you into something you don't want to do but it seems (to me) like a big risk to take; not getting in could cost you a year or more of your life. You have great stats, and in all likelihood it won't matter, but I for one am not going to take any chances.
does anyone know roughly what % of interviewees at BU (this early) get accepted? this is just cuz the school is my first choice and i would sort of like that number to be really really high
oh, and also... after they give you an interview, do your scores really matter afterwards? like during the interview

For the class of 2010, 562 people were interviewed and 315 were accepted, so 56% of those interviewed were accepted. I think most people are on the same playing field once they have an interview, but I still think they'll consider your scores, extracurriculars, and personality in making the final decision for who gets accepted.
My interview is 12/4. Would it be wise of me to try to call and change in to earler (october sometime)?
They assigned me that date, do they just randomly assign or is it that better candidated get earlier interviews?
i got a pretty early interview (compared to the rest of the people that posted on this thread), and i think i suck as a candidate... maybe they just put us in alphabetically or something

WOW!!!!!!! Their class size is 315. I thought NYU has the biggest class size and that's roughly around 220.
Hey, I didn't get a good answer to this so I am reposting:

last time i checked boston only had 102 seats. i think the 315 includes the people who were accepted but chose to attend another school.
Yeah, they accept 315, and only 102 enroll.

You can try calling to get an earlier interview, but if you got such a late interview, it's probably b/c the earlier spots are all booked. The only ones that may clear up are the ones where people decide not to attend or change to later interviews, which is something I may be doing, so that spot would open up to the first person who calls after me.

Well, I just called and canceled my interview on Oct 16, so that day should be open for anyone who wants to switch to an earlier interview.
Boston is awesome!
