I recently interviewed at a school where both interviews where not conversational and I was just asked to discuss personal scenarios that related to the question asked. To my surprise both interviewers asked about the same scenarios in their respective interviews. If this ever happens to me again, is it better to use my best scenario in both interviews since it is the one that best answers the question or should I use different scenarios for the different interviewers? Thanks.

This was probably a mistake on the school's/interviewers' part - some schools do have specific questions interviewers are supposed to ask, but at least in my experience they make sure to assign different interviewers different questions for the same candidate. If it happens again, I would say something like "oh jeez, the other interviewer actually asked me the same question - the example I gave was..." which will give the interviewer a chance to either make sure they've got the right question set and change the question, or clarify if for some odd reason they do want to ask the same exact question and get a different answer lol.

The same thing happened to me. I gave the same stories/answers because I wasn't about to scramble to think of new scenarios when my original answers were perfectly fine. This is a mistake on the school's part and they wouldn't penalize you for being consistent in your answers haha.

Not really advice but I was asked the same question twice by the same interviewer. Within 10 minutes. Interviewers can also do poorly! I’m sure you did great.

The same thing happened to me too! I ended up repeating myself then kicking myself internally for being so boring that we couldn’t hold a conversation lol

Haha it’s a weird moment. Not on you, so don’t worry about your response. I definitely felt disappointed afterwards because I thought if they were that disorganized during the interview (other things went wrong on their end as well), maybe their write-up wouldn’t be so great. But I was accepted!

Very little control over the process, especially in those moments and after the interview is done. Focus on what you can control! 🙂
