I'm pretty much finished with the book, however I do not fully understand this problem... probably cause I can't conceptualize what is physically going on...

Is there a mirror lying flat on the ground?
Or is the mirror set up perpendicular to the ground on an apparatus??

Well it says the parallel polarized light is more intense so if you want to minimize it you want something that'll block it the most. So put it as 90 w/ respect to the ground.

I didn't understand this at first but it was helpful to draw it out.

Mirror laying on the ground, light comes in at some angle and some of the light goes parallel to the mirror.
