I don't agree with this guy, but let us all agree to please stop incorrectly invoking the First Amendment. APhA is not the government. They can ask whatever of people and we can tell them to take long walks off whatever short piers they choose. This is not protected by the First Amendment.

Both points are partially true, there is a difference between what someone says as a representative of an organization, and what they say in their free time. He is referring to volunteers in APHA, a volunteer is a much more loose situation, then an employment situation.

Still, Tice didn't order, threaten, or bribe, anyone not to talk, he just requested it as a favor, so no free speech is being hampered, regardless of how it is looked at.
