Break between general cardiology fellowship and interventional

Hi

I am a graduate of a top notch cardio fellowship. Have some IC research but minimal.

I am taking time off to pay off student loans as the interest rates are not favorable.

Does anyone know of how big a deal this is for IC program directors in general? How about taking 2 years in between?

Any input appreciated!
