Just wanting to know if anyone is on break yet and how long your break is?

CSU's break started today (well maybe tomorrow for those who have yet to take the immunology and radiology final)... here's the awesome part... we dont go back until Jan 22nd... yes thats right... 5 weeks off... i guess it was worth it starting school super early 🙂

our break starts tomorrow. Technically at 11, but being that it's our physical diagnosis test, probably more like 9:30. I think we start back Jan. 9.

Our last exam is physiology on Friday. We return to classes Jan 2.

We started break last Thursday the 6th and don't go back until Jan 3. I celebrated break by getting sick 😉

Wish our break started now... we don't even start finals til this Sunday and break doesn't start until the 23rd 🙁. Anatomy is our last final 1-5:30 on the 22nd . I want Christmas!!

orientation was aug 13th... school started aug 20th... so it wasnt insanely early, but I think a lot of schools started closer to labor day? maybe we get out later in the spring... I just checked, our last class is may 9th and last final is may 16th? whatever the reason, 5 weeks is sounding quite fantastic 🙂

We get done on the 19th and head back the 7th. Standing in my way of Christmas are a Parasit final, a Pathology final, and Epidemiology final, and a presentation to some zookeepers about infectious diseases in birds...

We get three weeks that starts tomorrow...but we had an awful finals week: histology on yesterday, physiology today, anatomy tomorrow. I REALLY hope I passed histology. Gah, I how I loathe it...

So... In undergrad we had 5wks, then it was 4wks by my 3rd year. In vet school, I believe it started as 4wks, but this year it's 3wks (to accommodate main campus's change), and next year we're required to all be in-house (we start clinics next winter/spring & stay till graduation).

It's kinda sad, especially since I tend to overfill my time off while I'm home seeing old friends & such.

Yay, I passed histology!! 😀 With a D. 🙁 I had a C going into the final, studied harder for that one than either physiology or anatomy and still did fairly poorly. But...I passed histology!! 😀

We require C's to pass also. I think if you get a D+ you don't have to retake the course, but if you fail another course you have to repeat that course and any other course that you got a C- or lower in.

We require C's to graduate too, but you're allowed 9 hours of D credit. Just to clarify...I hated histology too...

This is why I don't take a break--I work at the clinic I worked at in high school/college when I am home on break. They need the extra trained hands and I stay busy.

That's a good idea, but I started pursuing vet med after college, so I never had a clinic to work at here. 🙁 Plus there's only about 3 vets in my parents' hometown.
