So I have decided to tell my loved ones of my acceptance or denial by cake. I plan to take the family out to dinner, and at desert have the resteraunt bring out a cake with a picture of my acceptance or denial letter in the icing. Anybody else have any wild ideas?

You would actually bring your family to a restaurant and present them with a cake with a rejection letter in it?

You're going to cause a lot of anxiety. I think presenting a rejection letter on a cake is a horrible idea and one of the worst ways to end the evening.

I'd leave the rejection letter OUT of the cake. Sounds like a good idea only for an acceptance letter.

Would only do it after hearing from all the schools, heck yeah I'd put a rejection letter on a cake. Hopefully won't have to. Even thought about if I get accepted, making up a fake rejection letter and having two cakes, bringing the false one out first followed by the real one. Guess I'm the only one who thinks of this crazy stuff.

I am a non traditional applicant coming from a previous career that made a respectable living, however doesn't feel like I have money anymore after being back in school for three years.

i would tell my parents that i'm joining the army and giving up on medical school. then give them the acceptance letter

I do like the cake idea too. But for my rejections, I will just create a Wall of shame in my apartment and post all of them them up. Will probably consume copious amounts of alcohol to numb the pain 😉 I would call my parents later to break the news to them. Later after the pain has subsided I will throw my letters in a bonfire. I plan to have a fire extinguisher on hand too.

If I get rejected I think I'll go out for mojitos and queso and talk about all the reasons why medical school is bad idea.
