Alright, so a high blood oxygen partial pressure would decrease breathing rate because your blood is saturated with oxygen and your body doesn't need anymore, thus, your breathing is decreased. Destroyer # 47 also says that low blood CO2 partial pressure would decrease breathing rate. This means that there is a lack of CO2 in your blood (which is good?) and so to keep it that way, your breathing rate is reduced?

This means that there is a lack of CO2 in your blood (which is good?) and so to keep it that way, your breathing rate is reduced?

If there is low CO2 in your blood that means that you have plenty of oxygen and therefore your breathing rate can clow down. However if you have a high CO2 build up then that means that your body is not getting enough oxygen and therefore youre breathing rate goes up.
